We were brought here against our will. If this god feels threatened by our presence, she is free to return us to our homes.

I do think so lowly of you. You have a radio, you listen to us and know injured and children are sheltered here. You surround us. You target our supplies. If you wished to ally with us and protect these lands we would do it, but we will bow to no king, here or anywhere.

I was unaware the boars were your subjects when I killed them. We require meat to live, and where I come from a similar creature is provided to us by the gods to nourish our bodies. I set the traps your people destroyed. If I pay for the crimes I committed, are you willing to negotiate safe passage? To live alongside our people until we are returned to our homes?

They do not bow to me as your people do to you, but this village is mine, and there are rules that people are expected to abide by if they live here. They will respect any agreement that I make with you.

I will pay for the lives that I have taken, as is just, but we will not bow to you. We will avoid any further killing of your people, and you can speak with a representative here about areas that you would prefer we avoid. This is all that I can offer.

Your death really isn’t going to help anyone, Randvi.
Especially if you stay dead.
There has to be another way to resolve this without murder.
Dead people can’t actually make amends, if that’s what you and King Eki want.

I did not intend to kill thinking creatures. If the price must be paid in blood it should be mine alone.

That’s my point.
There are so many better ways to make up for this.
What does killing you accomplish?
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth leaves the world blind and toothless.
I’m not going to say it’s never an option, but we should be exhausting every other idea and option before that.

We are under siege at the village. There have already been incursions and blood spilled on both sides. I'm not certain we have the luxury of time.

There’s enough time to make sure we don’t make it one more person dead.
Could you at least try offering something that isn’t just you getting murdered by angry boars?

[ Maddy is SO not happy about this. But in a world where people come back, Randvi killing herself seems slightly less stupid than Levi Jr permanently becoming a slave, because who knows how that would turn out. She's also currently with Levi Jr, which means she can chase him if he tries to run off.

She can't actually stop Randvi. But she can at least stop Levi from doing something stupid, too. ]

I'll negotiate with the King guy but only if you tell him he can't have Levi too.
Levi is trying to run away to be a slave to this Eki asshole.

[The audio seems more directed to Maddy than Randvi, largely because he's just hitting the talk button while stealing his radio back again.]

I told you I know what I'm doing. If he agrees with me he won't take Randvi, he won't take anyone. It'll just be me! I thought about this.

[He's not just being an emotional teen! He's being an emotional teen and making bad choices after thinking things through because he has no self-esteem. There's a difference.]

I don't think this will end until Eki feels that we have paid for the deaths of the beasts of the forest and the only one here who has killed them is me.

[ Levi Jr. still has the radio, so not everything Maddy says gets picked up by the walkie. She's mostly just arguing with Levi now. However, Randvi can hear bits and pieces: ]

--you've only thought about it because you don't think you're worth anything! But I'm telling you, that's bullshi--

That's because I'm not!

[Levi practically screams as he finally wrests the walkie from Maddy's hands (for now)]

[ Maddy pouts while Levi talks to the others on the walkie. ]

[Levi pants for a moment before turning his attention to the radio and sending a few more messages.

He takes a moment to take a few deep breaths before holding the radio out.]

Here. You can have it. Just don't pretend to be me.

EI033N has given us no reason to trust him and obstinately refuses to listen to logic or be reasoned with. What makes you think his forces won't simply slaughter everyone else at the airfield once you're out of the way? All that will be left are children.

[ And dear lord someone should take that walkie away from Levi Jr. and Maddy both, before they provide this "Eki" with even more incentive to immediately kill and/or enslave them once Randvi's no longer protecting them.

He's gone from the airfield for one day— ]
