[Taissa has woken up in a new place much farther than ever before. It's too warm, even for night. The tropical trees growing just inland of the beach only confirm that this is considerably south of New Jersey. Her clothes are soaked through and she doesn't remember being in the water. Was there a shipwreck? There must be other boats nearby. The coast guard, or somebody, should be out there.

She picks up the only thing outside of herself that she has found on the sand so far. It looks like some sort of emergency radio. She listens to only a snippet of a message before calling out herself, but it sounds enough like military jargon to give her hope of timely rescue. She attempts to sound calm through her shock and confusion. Loud and clear.]

Hello? Who am I speaking to? This is Senator Taissa Turner. I seem to be lost and in need of assistance.

When I was younger, a plane I was on crashed in the Canadian wilderness.

Was there anyone else out there, in the woods? Not from the crash, I mean.

No. [If there was, she wouldn't say.] Just the other crash survivors, until we were rescued.

Well, we've got some here, and so far they haven't been very friendly. You should keep an eye out, in case you're being watched, and try to avoid being seen as much as possible.

Not really.

There was contact with someone off the island, though, I think they called the drones 'guardians'. Something about scripture?

[Maybe not the same guys, but not a good sign either]

Last time I saw Guardians, they used crossbows to take out a group of guys in full body armour.

It would be easier to know if you’d seen ‘em. If they've got black teeth, that's it. They eat this like, fucked up amber or something, I don't know.

Not sure if they're natives. But they do have crossbows, and shoot to kill.

Some EMT training, a lot of bugging my mom about nurse stuff, and a whole lot of experience with breaks, sprains and other injuries.

Sounds like you have some assistance coming. Unfortunately we all got dropped at random ass places on this island, so we're a little stuck in trying to meet up, but I think there's still safety in numbers.

For what it's worth, I doubt this is another plane crash situation you're in. The reality of it seems more complex than that.

Do we know how big this place is yet? Any chance at all of it being just a weirdly shaped peninsula?

I could really use a little less complexity this week.

Not entirely. I don't have a good idea of the actual size, especially north to south. We're too scattered so far and with the dangers all over we haven't mapped it out.

Wishful thinking. I thought it might be something like that at first, but...nah, we're outta luck. We might be in an archipelago, but I don't know if there's any other islands that close, or how we'd even get off this one yet. It's only been a few days, but obviously the longer we're stuck here, the more stressful it is when you got shit to do at home.
