Some kind of weird shit happened, but I'm…not actually sure what. I woke up here like the first time, on some part of the island I don't recognise…on the east, I think. Pretty sure.

I don't remember dying or anything exciting happening.

What the hell is going on?

[ He laughs because he's Senku. ]

Looks like this time the rescue mission is for me, huh? I'm not hurt or anything, but I also don't have any weapons. If anyone's not busy, I need two things:

One, an update on whatever I must have missed.
Two, someone who isn't busy and wants to come play guide dog.

[ He's such a brat, but his request is sincere. ]

Oh, fuck yeah. Can I please come on this mission? I'm getting pretty good with my sword! And I think I might literally die if I have to stay at this boring base one more day.

[ He doesn't yet know there's been MORE THAN ENOUGH DEATH. He also still sounds like a jerk but he's just covering his distress with snark. He's happy to hear from Maddy, he's just...Senku. ]

[ You can pretty much hear the eyeroll in her voice, but it's okay, Senku! The truth is, Maddy missed you so much and she's so glad you're okay, but it'd be super gross to act vulnerable like that on the radios so you get this instead. Also she's trying to act hard to seem like she wasn't scared by the boarpocalypse... she was very scared by boarpocalypse.

Also, Senku, if he were the type to care, would get the satisfaction of the previous snotty attitude-filled statement being followed up by an embarrassed silence. ]

[ He's used to the whole "be a jerk instead of show you care" thing so it's fine with him. Last he'd heard, after all, they didn't know where Maddy was. ]

From pigs? Like those boars we kept running into? What'd they do?

[ He had a sprained wrist for a hot second because of a boar attack. That's fine now, of course, since he reset upon coming back.

He does laugh maybe a little more than he even usually does. ]

In the ocean? How'd that happen?

[ Her coming back made her think Senku might too. It gave her some hope, anyway. It kept her from totally freaking out about him, at least. ]

Yeah. They tried to block anybody from coming into or out of the airfield. Then they started charging our supplies.

[ Maddy takes a deep breath. ]

The guy in charge was somebody named King Eki. [ "Was". ] At least that's what he called himself, or something. A lot... a lot happened, Senku. I'm glad you didn't have to be here for it. It sucked ass.

So that's The Boar, huh? The last of the others we heard about from the PacAirs.
I mean we haven't actually talked to Shark yet and Orca hates us and wants to die. Leopard is pretty cool, but it doesn't want to interact with us too much unless we earn it. The Hunter guy literally will hunt us for sport apparently. And Boar...wait, what happened to him? Someone kill him or something?

[ Senku's tone moves from Senku-sensei listing facts to the way he gets when something is exciting. ]

Sounds like a pain in the ass that I'm glad to have missed. But...I'm also apparently on the other side of the island. Not exactly convenient.

[ Not when the only weapon he has is a little knife that he wouldn't be much good at using to fight anything. ]

Those boars still around trying to gore people or whatever?

The what? I guess so. How many of these people are there? The Hunter guy...that's the one said he wanted to string me up by my intestines.

Dirk got, uh, King Eki? The boar guy. He was a real dumbass about it. [ She still remembers hearing the fight. ]

I think the boars are back to normal now. It was weird. Randvi said the king could "mind control" them. [ Creepy... ]

Levi and I can come get you!

Oh, might've been before your time. But the PacAir people gave Dirk kind of a list of…I don't know, they see them as demigods or some shit but you know I don't believe that.

Hunter seems like a real asshole. There's a reason people keep avoiding his cabin.

[ Even Senku can acknowledge there are exceptions to his working with everyone thing. It's not that he wouldn't work with Hunter, but that guy is clearly not a team player. ]

That's all the ones we heard about. Boar, Hunter, Orca, Leopard, Shark. Doesn't mean there's not more. And I guess now there's one less, unless this boar king revives the way we do.

I don't think they do, though. Orca implied they don't. Guess we'll see. If he comes back he'll probably be pissed as hell.

[ Senku isn't sure what Levi she means, but he doesn't want to ~compromise~ the nickname he has for Levi Sr. He actually assumes that's who she means, since they seem to have bonded or something. ]

I'd appreciate the assist. All my stuff is back at the airfield. Oh, thought I guess I dropped the compass attachment somewhere. Maybe at the beach? Someone should look for it.

[Kokichi sounds the same as ever – bratty, exaggerated whining, irreverence, etc. He certainly doesn't sound like anything too terrible happened. He's good at doing that.]

[ Senku is well aware that Kokichi sounding like things are fine means absolutely nothing. ]

No clue, which annoys me ten billion percent. What do you mean you had to get your hands dirty?

Remember that whole plan where you'd dissect people who died to see if anything looks weird? Well, you weren't here, so someone had to do it!

[The indignant "hmph!" sound he makes here feels awfully out-of-place for what he's implying, more like he's complaining about having to clean up someone else's dirty dishes or something.]

[ He knows whatever answer he's about to get is total bullshit, but he can't help but ask. ]

That's exciting as hell. You find anything out?

But I couldn't really find out much even after deigning to do the gross work myself. The body disappeared after like an hour, and even before that, it was pretty messed up after the boars were done with it. Someone else should go ahead and die in a less gruesome way so we can do a better investigation!

[ He's not buying that, sorry Kokichi. ]

Sometime I'm sure we'll get another chance. People die too damn much on this island. Anyway, who'd you dissect?

[ Completely deadpan. He knows that people here who have died remember doing so. He's not gonna let Kokichi gaslight him about it. ]

[ He's not entirely surprised; Squalo is reckless and has that streak in him that yells violence to Senku. They had expected to die on the raft, but that didn't happen. ]

...did he come back?

You sound awfully sure about that. You really don't think it's possible to not know? I mean, someone could sneak up on you and do it juuust right so it's instantaneous...

[He sounds so flippant and almost teasing in saying it, but it's something he's thought about more than once. Some of his classmates didn't see it coming. He wonders if they had a chance to feel the pain and actually process what happened or if it was quick enough that they died completely oblivious.]

Anyway, I saw him talking on the walkies before so I assume he's fine. It was super gross before that, though – the boars like, trampled him and partially ate him. His corpse was so messed up I probably couldn't tell for sure if anything was weird about his body even it didn't disappear so fast.

I'm sure it's a possibility, but everyone here who has died has known or at least remembered when they woke up. Besides, I've died before.

[ He doesn't bother explaining that. ]

That's gross as hell. Not a very good way to discover anything much, but good on you for trying.

You didn't tell me if he came back.

You missed a lot. [ An understatement delivered in a wry tone; he's glad to hear from Senku again. Sounds like others are already busy filling him in on all the relevant details of what he's missed, so K won't bother repeating information. ]

Wish we knew more about these inexplicable disappearances... You're back and now Harley's missing. No trace whatsoever left behind, same as with you and Maddy. Just gone. [ And there's no hiding just how sad and tired he sounds by this point. ]

Do you have the Medusa? [ Meaning: K doesn't. ] I still have the diamond stud.

[ Senku is so glad to hear K's voice on this thing. But he's Senku so it's not like he's going to…make that clear in any way. ]

Yeah, sounds like. Boar kings and shit.

[ It's an understatement, but Senku is fairly blasé about most traumatic or traumatic-sounding things after they're over and done. ]

Harley's gone now? Damn, sucks for you.

[ This is Senku talk for sorry, but expressing sympathy is definitely not one of his strong suits. He does care, though. He likes Harley well enough, and more importantly, he knows how much K cares about her. ]

She'll probably turn up sooner or later.

[ That seems to be the pattern, after all. Where the difference happens between disappearance and dead without coming back, Senku isn't sure. Is there any way to really tell? Their stuff zaps out of existence either way, apparently. ]

Yeah, I have it. Left all my shit at the base before we went on the raft, too, except the compass. Wonder if it's on the beach someplace.

[ That's the last place Senku remembers being. ]

Lucked out a little, though. No more wrist injury and my chemical stuff replenished.

[ He means his fave, sulphuric acid, but he's not gonna say that out loud on the network. ]
