[Once the sun has come out again, the voice of a teen girl comes on over the network. She's doing her absolute best to sound chipper, but there's a strain in her voice for anybody paying attention.]

Hi! I hope everyone made it through the storm okay. That sure was... intense! I have never been happier to see the sun lol.

[Yes, she does just say lol out loud as a word. Like "lohl."]

Unfortunately the spot I was staying in got flooded, and... I kind of got caught up in the water! I'm okay for now. I got back onto the shore and I've pulled myself as far away from the river as I can so it doesn't pull me back in.

[A pause, but there's still a crackle indicating she's still holding down the button... then a sigh.]

Though... I might need some help. I did get hurt a little. I'll be okay! I've patched myself up as best I can and I am sure I'll get better. I just can't move very well right now. So if anybody is nearby and could at least help me get to somewhere with a roof...

[Another pause. Jade is definitely having some trouble keeping that chipper tone in her voice now, but she's still trying.]

I'm by a river. A little southeast of me and across the river there is a cliff with some buildings on it. If anybody is nearby that would be great! But if not I am sure I will be okay. I have been through worse before!

[The radio clicks off. Then a few seconds later, it's on again.]

Oh- and I'm Jade, by the way! Nice to meet you if I haven't already talked to you.

I have some small cuts and scrapes from the tree and the river, but nothing major or deep. Nothing still bleeding. Though I guess there's always a risk of infection, even with small stuff.

Yeah, especially if you're outside. I have some ethanol we can use as disinfectant. It won't feel good but it's better than actually getting an infection. I don't currently have medicine to treat infections...should probably try to make some.

I'll see who's around here who can get to you. You need food or water?

If any of the food has gone bad, maybe some of it has grown the mold that makes Penicillin?

And I have some food, but not very much. I should be able to ration it out enough to make it until someone finds me, though. There's also river nearby that I can get to for water if I need to.

In theory. Penicillin is pretty difficult to get on its own though. Lots of other shit will grow with it and you might hurt someone as much as you help them if you don't strain it out. Better off making sulfa drugs. I've done that before and could again if we get ingredients.

Hopefully it won't come to that though. Ethanol cleaning a wound should be okay, especially if it's not a very deep wound. We also have just plain old soap.

Make sure you boil the water; I'm not sure if the river is safe to drink from without boiling. Unless you've been drinking it already and you're fine, in which case you're either ten billion percent lucky or it really is safe.
