We found a cat. Black fur, violet eyes. Well-cared for. Weirdly intelligent... maybe even trained if that's possible... [She still can't believe it led them to water like some sort of bitey little service animal.]
Is anyone missing a pet?
[And once she's taken a few steps away from where Chloe can effectively hobble after her to intervene, she strategically drops a more pressing concern.]
We also have someone with leg injuries. We did the best we could but we'll need something to boil water in and fresh bandages soon. If someone with more supplies or experience can lend a hand, we can give you our location or try to meet you halfway. It's not easy to move right now.
Watch out for bear-traps.

[So far it's ended well every time but all winds turn eventually]

With our little village [ because he's adopted Randvi's term for it ] growing like this, might be time for me to set up a second weir soon. Establishing some crops would be beneficial too, if we can. I don't think we'll need to worry about winter here since we're near the equator.

I've heard that places like this typically have a rain season. That could make crops complicated. Still, not a bad idea.

Anyway, I think you're right about growing food, especially since more of us keep showing up here. We can't just hope mangoes on trees stay ripe forever.
I'll think of a solution. Maybe we could turn one of the bungalows into a greenhouse if we find more tarps or things like that to wall 'em off. Easier than building a whole damn building when we don't have enough tools.

[She’s not aiming to protect you from your own decisions this time, just other people’s idiocy]
If such a thing can be constructed in one of the longhouses, I can clear it out soon.

[ It's still kind of babysitting, he thinks, but he'll argue somewhere else. ]
What it needs is a space we can completely close off but that sunlight will still get to. Ideally we close it off with something like clear plastic. That's something like the tarps are made of, but clear so the light gets in. Has to be closed off to keep temperature and humidity stable. You and I can probably work on clearing something out.

Is it all right? The Detective told me plastic is “shit”.

Plastic's useful for a variety of things.

Depends on the context. Plastic is ten billion percent useful depending on what you need it for. For a makeshift greenhouse, it will do fine. But it's hard to make ourselves, so we're dependent on just scavenging it.

That would be great if we can get one set up. More tarps, added to the shopping list.
[ Though he still laments not having so much as a proper hammer or saw here. Hopefully he'll at least find an axe one of these days. ]

Yeah, other people are still wild cards, huh? I don't think anyone else is nearby now, though. Anyway, if that Levi guy is still around, whoever comes anywhere near might have to deal with him.
[ Is he just assuming Levi will play security guard because he's obviously paranoid? MAYBE ]
Or maybe big pieces of plastic of any kind, but I think tarps are more likely. I think we can probably rig something up. We'll work on it when you guys get back.
not here (or is he)

It also has him thinking about setting up some sort of proximity alarms around the perimeter of the airbase, something that he'll mention to Senku and Randvi off-network and in person. ]
PVC plastic? I believe that's what most inflatables are made of. We might be able to turn up some of those at the resort if we keep looking.

You got it. I assume you're up for it?
[ He's bossy, but he wouldn't (and couldn't, lbr) make anyone do anything they're not onboard with, not when it could get someone else hurt. ]

[ He's not sure he believes this cat thing, so he's mostly teasing, but who knows! ]

[ K's fully on board with having a potential kitty buddy. Even if he turns out to just be a regular cat, he won't be disappointed in the slightest. ]

[ IS HE KIDDING? Who knows! ]

Having a cat at the airbase would be good for morale, I think.
[ He just wants a kitty friend!!! ]

If you say so. A cat that smart might make a good lookout.
[ Like a dog might! But they don't have a dog, just a strange cat, apparently. ]
