[Jet doesn't typically do the radios. Too much chatter goes against how he works, but this time, there's an exception. He might have just texted if texting wasn't a pain in the ass right now. As it is, his voice sounds strained even through the crackle of the radio, which at least aids in masking the occasional sparking sound his shoulder is still giving off.]

JK002N -Jet- calling on anyone who's got an idea to spare. Martin and I are at a door, North-Northwest. There's...there's a card-reader here. Gave off a hell of a shock. Anyone find an employee card or anything? Or rubber gloves...

We're taking suggestions, cause it's definitely something beyond it.

[Caution tells him even this much might be dangerous to say if they're being monitored and someone doesn't want them over here...but leaving just yet wasn't an option and he wasn't an invalid yet. They could handle it.]

I thought it might be.

My advice is to not try to force open a door that might be booby trapped or needed for future opening and closing.

If I was determined to do exactly what I really shouldn't, though, I'd rip my shoes up and wedge tools into them. And then brace myself for something new and exciting to try to kill me, and then brace myself again to get chewed out by 3 different people for at least 2 hours each.

I mean, all you guys pull such insane stunts that it's actually making me the smart one. It's a weird feeling. I don't really mind it, mostly, but it does take some of the thrill out of climbing wreckage and dodging wild animals.

What did I do that's insane?

You're prying at a panel that tried to electrocute you. Though that doesn't come close to doing anything on that tiny raft. Going after that cabin tops it all for straight-up suicidal though.

I didn't actually do that. But fine. A lot of people take risks here that I don't approve of. The raft was... we kind of needed to get to Maddy quickly. It wasn't a great option, but we didn't have any good ones.

[He sighs quietly to himself.]

The cabin thing people have been after has definitely been inadvisable. I felt- it's weird, though. I think I was getting a feeling to go toward it a little while ago. It's still sort of here. Like this pull inside me.

No, the cabin thing crossed the line from "unwise" to "insane" a while ago. There are too many other options to look for clues. But there are worse ways to be than "suicidally insane".

[ She thinks about that for a moment. ]

Uh... no. I haven't felt anything even remotely like that. Are you like, okay...?

Being "suicidally Insane" is a positive? Compared to what?

[ Oh? You want to know what's worse than 'suicidally insane'? Wherever shall she begin... ]

'Stupidly overconfident', for one. 'Pointlessly reckless'. 'Suicidally stubborn'? I dunno, that might be pretty even.

[ All phrases she could use to describe herself. Which is why the relative insanity on the island is so weird for her. ]

'Homicidally insane'. Is that a word? 'Suicidally homicidal'. 'Creepily obsessed'. I could go on.

Yeah, yeah, alright...some of those are worse.

It's one thing if you take a risk you understand. It's another thing entirely if you get yourself and people around you hurt or killed because you don't realize what kind of trouble you're in until it's too late.

Well, yeah, of course. Reckless to the point of endangering others is never okay, thought that one was more common sense, but I guess not for everyone.

[ Ha haaa she talked herself in a circle and now she just feels bad about herself. ]

Like I said. There are worse ways to be.

I'm fine. It only got really bad for a little bit there. Mostly, I've just been ignoring it. My experience, weird feelings aren't something you really want to just follow.

...You know that's also how people die from really treatable conditions, right? Ignoring problems instead of addressing them?

I don't think I've contracted anything here. Jet and I have been the same places and eaten and drunk the same things. He's not feeling off.

The principle applies to other areas. What if you're cursed? You can't get rid of a curse by ignoring it.

[Well, she brought up curses and he's already played at being superstitious.]

Again, I'm really not sure how I would've been cursed when Jet's not.
We've been everywhere together last couple of weeks and this only started about a week ago.

And I don't know how I would be cursed and not Jet. We've touched the same things.
Been the same places.
Unless the Hunter knows magic and decided they hate me?

See? That's my point. You don't know the rules. You can't reasonably rule anything out unless you actually investigate.

I know supernatural stuff is an option after the crab monsters, but I'm willing to be at least a little skeptical, aren't you?
I'm also not really sure what I'm meant to do beyond letting people know.
Seeing who else might be feeling the pull.

What sort of weird feelings have you been experiencing, Martin? Like a compulsion to do something, or go somewhere?

Uh... yeah, actually? Have you been feeling it?

I think whatever I've been feeling's different. Almost but not quite claustrophobia, and not natural. It's only when I'm at the airfield.

[ He's been feeling something ~~Leitner-induced~~ strange at the airfield, and he's been able to pinpoint the location because it always lessens when he goes to check the weir or fetch water. He just hasn't been able to figure out what's causing it. Confined spaces have never previously bothered him, nor has being at the airfield caused any of these feelings up until recently, both of which have tipped him off to the cause not being natural. ]

But someone else has described those feelings of compulsion to me. Do you know where they were trying to lead you?

Oh-Oh! At the airfield? I- Yeah, I was getting that sense, too, while I was there. It, um... it's part of why I headed out with Jet so quickly. I thought I was just being antsy, though? Eager to start.

[Forcefully stubborn, more like.]

I'm not sure where the feelings were leading specifically, but the best I can tell is they want me to go to the cabin. We were skirting around it when it got the worst.
