Had a fun conversation with one of our neighbors. They're good trackers, so anyone camping out in the jungle, watch yourselves.

Probably don't tell me exactly where base camp is over this, but would you say you guys are closer to the sand or closer to the mountains?

We are closer to the sand. Thus far, we have not encountered any evidence of people who are not part of our group. However, there are two structures nearby that have not been fully cleared.

Did you see this person face to face? It was my understanding that the other people here do not use radios.

I think we're at risk anywhere here. But if you're not too deep in the jungle, you're probably safer than most.

Are they defending territory? We have not exactly been discreet about our location.

They're defending it against me. Violently, too. If they haven't made the first move against you, you might be ok. Just don't make camp any further in.

Do you recall what you said to me about the risks you were taking? There is always a place for you to rest safely here should you need it.
