[Taissa has woken up in a new place much farther than ever before. It's too warm, even for night. The tropical trees growing just inland of the beach only confirm that this is considerably south of New Jersey. Her clothes are soaked through and she doesn't remember being in the water. Was there a shipwreck? There must be other boats nearby. The coast guard, or somebody, should be out there.

She picks up the only thing outside of herself that she has found on the sand so far. It looks like some sort of emergency radio. She listens to only a snippet of a message before calling out herself, but it sounds enough like military jargon to give her hope of timely rescue. She attempts to sound calm through her shock and confusion. Loud and clear.]

Hello? Who am I speaking to? This is Senator Taissa Turner. I seem to be lost and in need of assistance.

[Also in need of a quick transceiver tutorial, clearly.]

Mmmm. Glad to hear you've got a plan, Senator. Forgive me, but I have to ask - since you're gonna be alone for the night, do you know how to make a fire? If you don't, I'd be happy to walk you through it, as well as I'm able to. Might be hard in the dark, but together, I'm sure we can manage.

And uh, hey, this person you're meeting up with - they have any water with them? Do you know? You're sure they're safe, right? You never know who you could be talking to on these things. Always makes me nervous when the newbies show up that somebody might try to take advantage.

I may not know exactly who I'm talking to, but they don't either. I'm a big girl.

I can start a fire if I can manage to find enough dry material. It might take me awhile. [She's never had to camp in a tropical forest before now.] Someone suggested collecting rainwater for now, but do you know if there's any freshwater inland? Trust me, I don't want to risk dehydration.

Si, si. That's true. The way you say that, you've got me thinking that maybe I should be a little scared of you. What kind of person am I talking to right now, Senator? Do I need to get a big strong man to protect me if we ever meet in person?

There are several rivers on the island. If you can get to one, that would be the best place to set up a camp. Only drinking rainwater will keep you alive, but it won't be pleasant.

Rivers. [She sounds relieved. She can work with that.] We'll make it a priority.

And you're not telling me that a member of Laredo's finest needs to hire bodyguards, are you?

There's even a lovely spring up on the way to the foothills, but I don't know how far this from you.

I don't know, I might. I don't know who I'm dealing with, after all. [ ^_~ ]

[She sounds like she can actually hear the wink and isn't terribly amused.] As long as you're not an unsafe person trying to take advantage of a newbie, I think we'll get along well enough.

[ She probably can hear the wink! Somehow. He just has that vibe. ] Me? Senator, I promise you, I would never do such a thing. [ He is scandalized! Horrified! That you would suggest such a thing!
