While I did anticipate finding myself in a brave new world upon stepping through that door, this isn't exactly what I was expecting.
Nor is this the company I was expecting to have.
I've been hearing a whole lot of strangers' voices coming out of this ancient piece of shit, and a notable lack of any familiar ones.
I also find myself somehow bereft of a number of items and abilities I should have had, many of which would have been pretty handy in what seems like a deserted island situation.
The rational question to ask here would be "what the fuck".
But just from eavesdropping on a few of y'all's conversations, it doesn't seem like anyone actually has the answer to that question.
So I'll skip the useless panic and confusion and whatnot and instead just ask:
Who was poking me and ran off before I fully woke up?
Fess up.

It sounds like you were ready for that part.
The alternate universe part, at least.
Even if it wasn't the beach.
Really wish we knew what was going on.
I think the radios must be important.
We all turn up with one.
Could be something supernatural.
[He needs another explanation, as well, for that not to sound suspiciously specific.]
Or, like... aliens with a REALLY retro aesthetic, maybe?
no subject
"Supernatural" and "alien" aren't mutually exclusive, in my experience.
no subject
I guess there are... alien ghosts and things?
no subject
You would not believe how many alien ghosts there are.
Can't walk five feet in a dream bubble without tripping over the blank-eyed specter of some random deceased extraterrestrial.
no subject
I've not heard of dream bubbles.
[Although, it makes him think of Jon's description of his nightmare stable in the dream world.]
Is that like a pocket dimension?
no subject
The exact details probably won't ever be relevant for anyone here.
[Since...y'know, it seems like only players of the Game end up in dream bubbles while dead or dreaming, and he can only assume this universe isn't anywhere near the end of its lifespan. But hey, maybe something crazy and unexpected will happen and he'll have to eat those words.]
no subject
[Thankfully, he doesn't have Jon's drive of needing to know every detail of every single thing. His boyfriend is, at times, exhausting that way. Or he was before the apocalypse... solved that problem for him.]
Anyway, it's probably a good idea to be more careful of the local wildlife than the people you're talking to on the radios.
That's all.
We had a giant bear attack us last night.
Thankfully, it only went after the little bit of food we had, not us.
If you're going to go into the jungle... maybe sleep in a tree, if you can?
