Yeah. I woke up on the beach on the east side of... this place. Wherever it is. Or at least somewhere more east than a lot of the rest of it. I think I'm heading northwest. Really wish I'd learned more about orienteering.

I don't see any tracks at all. Or hear traffic. I'm making arrows in the sand as I go so I don't accidentally get turned around somehow.

[There's a decision to make here. He doesn't want people worrying about him unduly, and he doesn't actually like being talked down to. But then, all of this, whatever is going on, might be his fault. Being open about his situation and what he's willing to do... that could be dangerous. And even if this man is being scornful, he's not giving bad advice. Martin keeps a well-practiced, neutral tone to his voice.]

I'm taking care of it, for sure! I definitely want to make sure it stays in as good a shape as I can keep it. I don't know how many other people arrived with something like it, so I know it's important. And I'm... sort of squeamish, I guess? I mean, it really depends on what it is. I don't like worms, but spiders are cute.
