[Dirk's brief broadcast the day before ended right as it sounded like a fight broke out with no responses anyone, so that probably was a little disconcerting. It's a full day later when his callsign finally makes another appearance on the network, back in his typical text form.]
Got him.
Permanently, I hope, but I'm not taking anything as a given on Respawn Island, particularly not after having just done the same myself.
I don't see that asshole hollering on the walkies anymore though, so I assume shit's quieted down.

That slab of overgrown bacon wouldn't fight me, f
[ It's here that Squalo discovers the word fucking just doesn't want to leave his mouth. He stutters over the F several times -- what the FUCK -- before he finally gets it out, but thank fuck for text because he can just delete all the extra attempts and it will look normal!! ]
[ He totally overlooked that start of a new paragraph though, oops- ]
ucking coward, how did you manage to get him???
no subject
It's very simple:
I'm fucking awesome.

I wanna hear the ffuc
king legend!!
How did you find him? How'd you get him to fight you??? HOW DID YOU KILL HIM i wanna know what shape the blood splatter made
[ He's absolutely, unhingedly excited. Oops, was somebody supposed to give Dirk shit about this? Nah. ]

Tragically, I passed out pretty much right after the final blow, so I didn't really get a chance to do a Rorschach test with his blood.
But if he ever shows up again, just tell him you're royalty or something.
Dude was practically eager to take me on himself once he thought I was "challenging him for his throne".

Aw thats a shame
Huh thats a fkking weird kink for a pig
But i think i know just what to say next time
[ He does have that Sword Emperor title and all... ]
Huh interesting. Good to know too i guess in case he pops up again
Whered you hit him to finish him off?
no subject
[Sorta. But he doesn't wanna broadcast how much of a potential weakness the transceivers are to any other potential threats that can see this network.]
What happened with you?
I had to keep the walkie quiet while on a stealth mission so I only got to check it occasionally.
Sounded like you were having fun, though.

thanks

I'd have been pretty pissed if all that accomplished jack shit.
no subject
how did you find him? what did it take to kill him?
[That last question is in case he comes back...but he's also curious.]
no subject
Wouldn't wanna spill the beans on the network and clue the next lunatic in so they're prepared for the same strategies.
But I didn't get the feeling he was invulnerable to normal damage or anything like that.
Big and fast and full of weird alien organs that probably make for a whole different arrangement of vitals, sure, but just as capable of dying as the rest of us.

[Right, these things aren't secure. Considering what Eki was JUST posting he should have remembered that.]
i'll wait till you get back. do you need help with that?
no subject
I know exactly where I am.
Camped right near here when I first arrived.
It's pretty close to the Pacair's village, actually.
Currently debating whether I should stop in to check on them or just head straight back to the airfield.
no subject
what are they like?
[Are they a threat?]
no subject
But that was before the crustacean apocalypse.
I don't know how involved they were with all that, if at all.

Are you still injured?
no subject
I guess I know what it's like getting kicked by a horse now.
no subject
Are you planning to return to the village? I’d like to ask you about it.
no subject
I'm pretty close to the Pacairs so I might as well stop by to check in with them first.
Try to feel out whether or not they'll be pissed about one of their demigods dying and all that.

[Sorry for this inscrutable statement, Maddy told her a story once.]

[Yes, he recognizes that Randvi comes from vikingland or something and must have picked this up from someone. And yes, he's consumed enough 21st centure human media that he still definitely more more about it than her. But he also thinks it's funnier to frame her as more experienced with that shit.]
no subject
[No one likes it.]
Perhaps they’ll even be pleased. This demigod did not seem overly fond of them.

People have strong feelings about their mythologies, and while some are pretty black and white about the morality of the figures involved – not many people would complain about someone killing Satan, for instance – the "bad guys" in many others are more complicated and still revered in their own way.
You're a viking, right?
How would your people have felt if someone claimed to have killed Loki?

We know they revere the shit out of that whale.
Their feelings on the "demigods" are a lot more ambiguous and I don't think we know enough yet to even say whether said demigods actually play a part in their mythology somehow, or if that's just the way they've chosen to categorize these other powerful beings so their own god remains at the top.

I wonder whether the whale has houses.

Yeah, it's kind of bizarre, but most of ancient Earth culture was in some way.
I didn't explore enough to see if the Pacairs had any kind of temple, but they did apparently make a shrine of some kind out of the airplane wreck near them.
no subject
They arrived in a shipwreck, is that right? Of an airplane. I can see why they might revere it if their god touched it.
